The Ogallala Aquifer is one of the most important resources in Nebraska and in the Great Plains area.
The Aquifer makes billions of dollars in food and provides people with clean drinkwater in the areas above the aquifer.
The Aquifer has had water pumped out at high rates from 1950-present, however there have been more regulations that have been passed to try and help preserve the aquifer.
