Website Coloring
Color is one of the most important elements of a website. It gives it a distinct mood, setting a tone for the rest of the site.
Basic steps to using color on your website:
- Decide who your audience is
- Your audience should always be your first consideration. This is elaborated more on the 'Effects' page.
- Choose a dominant color as the brand color.
- For example, on this site, it's theme is mainly black and white.
- Choose one or two accent colors
- While this site isn't the best example of this, there are more examples for color schemes on the 'Examples' page above.
- Choose a background color to complete the design
- Since this site is almost completley black and white, having a boring gray background wouldn't be as fun as a complete landscape photo. It ties the website together, and makes it just a little less dull to look at.
