In Language Arts, the students explore a variety of units, including short stories, grammar, writing skills, and novels by a variety of authors. Math courses range from Pre-Algebra to Advanced Math skills. In science, the students explore a variety of topics in the fields of Earth, Physical and Life science. Students also the growing field of Forensics. 8th grade science is a stepping stone into high school, as the students apply science concepts to the world around them. The Social Studies curriculum explores American History ranging from the post Civil War era to the present. In addition, economics concepts are incorporated into the curriculum. State Standards Assessments are administered in Reading & Writing, Math, and Science.


During the first semester of the 8th grade year, the students take Technology Skills, where they create podcasts, movies, and other digital publications. The students then take Spanish during second semester, where they receive a foundation in basic vocabulary and fluency in preparation for High School level Spanish courses.
