Seward Middle School
Seward Middle School serves over 400 students, grades 5-8. We utilize interdisciplinary teams by grade level, exploratory, and elective courses to offer a diverse curriculum, including instructional programs in Art, FCS, Agricultural Science, Instrumental and Vocal Music, Computer Courses, Spanish, Health, and Physical Education. Core classes include Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science, Special Education, and High Ability Learner Education.
The Middle School employs around 30 teachers with an average of 16 years of experience. Forty seven percent of the Middle School teachers have earned Master’s Degrees.
The activities program for the Middle School includes football, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, and cross country. Additional activities include yearbook, bully response team, builders club, and more.
In 2010, voters approved a bond to build a new Middle School facility for the School District of Seward. Construction began late fall 2010, and the new Middle School opened in August 2012. The School District of Seward thanks patrons for supporting the educational needs of students in providing a new Middle School Facility.
