Color Guard

Description

Color guard, as defined by wikipedia, is a team of perfomers who perform choreographed dances and routines with various equipment to enhance and interpret the music of the marching band show. Every school's color guard is different, and do different things.

Equipment

Below is a list of a few of the most commonly used color guard equipment. There is so much more that I didn't include. A six-foot and five-foot are very similar in the fact that they are both poles, just different lengths. Swing poles are usually two poles used together to look like one, then revealed into two. Bungee poles are varying in length and are just what they sound like, bendy. Rifles and sabres are essentially fake weapons that are used for effect. The silk is the part that you tape onto the pole, basically a flag. Hoops and ribbons are other equipment that members use to dance with.
