Every school has basic moves that they typically use in routines. Some schools have different names for moves than we do, but I am going to list some of our basic moves below. Keep in mind that we have A TON more moves than this, but these are usually the first few we teach the beginners because we use them the most.
- Windmill
- Pot Stirs
- Drop Spins
- Double Time
- Butterfly
- X's
- Shakes/Z-hits
- Box
Another important aspect of color guard are the tosses. They make the show and routines look a lot cooler and add affect to it. Tosses are probably one of the hardest things to learn also. With hard work and determination though, you can learn anything you put your mind to. We also have lots of other tosses, but I think these are the most basic ones.
- Pop Toss
- Full Toss
- Strip Toss
- Brittany
